Controversy magnet Rakhi Sawant, known for her outspoken ways, recently made headlines when she announced that she would choose her future spouse in a unique way. The dancer cum actress decided that she would launch a reality show called Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, very much in the vein of the American series The Bacheleorette! The show, which is expected to go on air next month, then began inviting eligible bachelors to apply to be a part of the show. And the response, according to the producers, has been astounding.
News is that over 12, 500 men from across the world have sent applications seeking Rakhi's hand. Numbering among them are doctors, models, engineers and plenty of NRIs. Rakhi revealed that she felt overwhelmed by the love and support shown to her, and has released a press statement saying that the response proves that she's not gimmicky. The next step would be to go through the applicants and choose the 15 best candidates. Rakhi will then begin spending time with the men in order to find her perfect life partner. The spunky item girl will then make her decision based on viewer votes and suggestions. The channel has affirmed that Delhi is on top of the list with 2, 465 entries, with Mumbai at its heels boasting of 1, 980 entries. The men who have applied to marry Rakhi fall between 18 and 35. Registration for the show closes on 5 May.
