If you saw Kareena Kapoor getting breathless during her Ladakh schedule which ended on Monday this week, it wasn’t because of her excitement level.It was something far more immediate..and scary.The unit of Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots shot at the Pangong Lake in Ladakh which is 13, 900 feet above sea level. Often tourists who go up there are known to complain of breathlessness due to the lack of oxygen.And so it was for Kareena, Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi who scaled new heights of derringdo without any casualty, though many people are known to collapse for lack of oxygen at the place where Kareena, the only female member of the cast, shot.Says Kareena, “We had little oxygen, no electricity and no hot water. On top of that I was in a wedding ghagra-choli outfit in that freezing cold, can you imagine! The wind almost swept me off my feet.”To protect herself from the freezing cold Kareena wore thermal heating along with her outfit. “But that was of very little help. Finally the unbearable cold was all worth it for a wonderful film.

No fun for Asin - Bollywood Actress

That too, abroad. World recession and the swine flu have spoiled Asin’s fun. She was to travel to Japan to shoot for Bharat Bala’s The 19th Step, but now the twin factors have worked against her trip. Instead, Japanese superstar Tadnobu Asano is expected to join Asin in Kerala where the entire film will be shot.

It’s not as if Papa Joseph preaches. Or that Asin was dying to be out of his influence so that she could do her own thing. But, yes, the Southie hottie had admitted that she was looking forward to going to Japan for fun and work. She visited China alone earlier for an awards event and, apparently, freaked out over her freedom. “I may seem to be a Papa’s girl but I like my independence,” Asin had said then.

Bollywood sources report that the height of freedom for Asin is to have a good time without raising comment. Not even shopping or trying her luck at the casinos is her idea of having a blast. Will Freida Pinto work with Madhur Bhandarkar?

When the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ girl Freida Pinto expressed her wish to work with Bollywood’s realistic moviemaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, the latter was so flattered with the lady’s desire that he said that he would “love to work with her”.

“I’m quite flattered to hear Freida wants to work with me. I think she is aware of my female-oriented cinema. She must have seen the performances that Tabu and Konkona Sen Sharma gave in Chandni Bar and Page 3. I’d love to work with Freida,” Bhandarkar said.

“Today, I’m at a stage where an actress of Freida’s international popularity singles me out. I guess I must’ve done something right in these 10 years as a director. Can you imagine the kind of potboilers I’d be making if my first film Trishakti had clicked?”

Reportedly, Miss Pinto had expressed this heartfelt desire of hers in an interview to the international press where she said that she would do a Bollywood film only if it was a Bhandarkar film.

Wheres Kangana in Kites?

The question is obvious when the film is being promoted on the names of Hrithik Roshan and international star Barbara Mori. It seems makers of Kites have completely forgotten Kangana Ranaut.

It is believed that Kangana’s not happy with the promos of the film as she has not been given much footage.

Being a Mexican actress Barbara has received a great exposure in Bollywood because of her sizzling chemistry with Hrithik.

The Kangana, who worked hard on herself to play her character and also learnt salsa for her role in Kites has been completely sidelined in the promos.

We hear that the makers of Kites want Barbara to promote the film in India before the release. Thus the actress will be back in India before the release. We wonder if our desi girl Kangana gets lucky too.

With her upcoming flick ‘What’s Your Rashee’ Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is all set to hit the silver screen.
The actress really got hurt when Ashutosh Gowariker, on the IIFA night said that no Priyanka but Aishwarya deserved the best actress award. But according to the latest b-town reports, director Ashutosh and actress Priyanka have now patched up.
At the night of IIFA awards, Ashutosh had said that he wanted Aishwarya to win the best actress award for ‘Jodha Akbar’ rather than Priyanka winning it for ‘Fashion’.
Now the reports reveal that there is no tension between Ashu and Priyanka and the two are extremely fond of each other as well.It is also rumored that the director has offered 12 special songs to the actress in order to make up for his comments.

Bipasha is in the Race

Despite reports to the contrary, Bipasha Basu is definitely still Madhur Bhandarkar’s first preference. In recent times, one heard rumours of how the director was looking at other actresses to play the lad in his sequel to Corporate.

The case of Race was also cited, where Kareena Kapoor has replaced Bipasha in the sequel. But that had probably more to do with the makers wanting to cash in on the chemistry of the Saif Kareena jodi. It will be remembered that one of the highlights of Race was the sizzling scenes between Saif and Bipasha. But all is not lost. Corporate, which is all set to have a sequel very soon, may just feature Bipasha in the cast. Bhandarkar is believed to be quite keen to cast her in the sequel which he is planning to make next. The director has just finished the shooting of his film, Jail, which stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manoj Bajpai. Corporate 2, which is believed to be in the scripting stage, is being produced by Percept Picture Company. The sequel is expected to have a fresh new plot. This time round, Bhandarkar is likely to have a more generous budget to play around with. The sequel’s budget is being pegged at Rs 20 crore. With an increase in the budget, the makers are looking to rope in bigger and more saleable stars. Corporate’s star cast consisted of Kay Kay Menon, Rajat Kapoor, Raj Babbar and Bipasha. It is likely that most of the earlier cast will not feature in the sequel, except for Bipasha, that is. She is a leading contender for the leading lady’s role, as far as Bhandarkar is concerned.

Genelia IN and Jiah OUT in the new film

Bollywood director Ken Ghosh insists that Jiah Khan’s ouster from his upcoming film had nothing to do with her acting capabilities. He says he roped in Genelia as the heroine’s character changed over time. Ken rubbishes rumours that he made the change overnight as he didn’t like the rushes of whatever had been shot of Jiah so far.

“Jiah performs really well. She being replaced has nothing to do with her capabilities as an actress,” Ken said. So how did Genelia come into the picture? “Honestly speaking, it was the sea change in the female protagonist’s character that caused me to make the change. Earlier, the character was a lot hotter and Jiah fit the bill. Now she’s turned much cuter and Genelia turned out to be the perfect choice,” Ken explained.

“At the end of the day, Jiah and Genelia are quite different, whether in terms of looks or attitude. There is a different kind of energy expected from the newlywritten character and I’m getting that from Genelia,” he added.

The film also stars Shahid Kapur. The director said they were yet to zero in on a good title, but added that it would not be called Yahoo as reported earlier.

Asin and her Japanese co-star into action from June 4

Asin and her Japanese co-star Tadanobu Asano will start training in Kalaripayattu for Bharat Bala’s film 19th Step from June 4. The gorgeous Asin (who most of Bollywood is threatened by after she walked away with Best Debutant trophy at the Filmfare Awards) had hurt her hand, and hence, the training in the traditional form of martial art had to be deferred. Asin says, “My hand is fine now. I’m in Chennai for a couple of days for some commercial, then I will fly to Cochin and later to Trivandrum for the kalari training.” Asano has also arrived in India. He took the train from Cochin to Chennai to meet Kamal Haasan the other leading man in the film. He will join Asin for their onscreen combat. While on the topic of Asin, the girl is still loyal to her childhood memories (her family albums, toys, dresses and gifts). Her greatest love was and still are her favourite Archie comic books. “I have been stuck on them since I was nine years old,” she reveals. Bipasha is a perfectionist, while dubbing for the film Bipasha visited the Aradhna Studio for the recording, the studio seemed like it was jinxed as whenever Bipasha used to go there for dubbing she always had a soar throat and couldn't record.

This happened around 6 times in a row and everyone thought that place was jinxed. Then they shifted the location and decided to record at Qlab and everything went on smoothly and Bipasha recorded it. Bipasha had to visit the studio 7 times to record it and this proves Bipasha is a perfectionis.

Neha Dhupia's new hobby squash

Neha Dhupia is a sports freak. After being an avid audience at the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, the model-turned-actress has started taking squash lessons. 

"Squash is the latest sport that has caught Neha's interest. She is being trained by a coach and she is thoroughly enjoying playing the game," said a friend close to the actress. 

"Neha used to actively participate in all the sports activities during her school and college days. She is a good swimmer. She also good at playing tennis and cricket," the friend added.

Salman did not dump Katrina

Well there was a buzz doing rounds last week that Salman in full rage had thrown Katrina and her stuff out of his home after he caught her red-handed texting some romantic messages to her New York co-star John Abraham, however the rumor was a full blown lie.
