The bidding wars are finally over and news is that M. Shyam Prasad Reddy, the man who produced the Telugu version of the super hit movie Arundhati, has decided to remake the film in Hindi. With many producers, including Ghajini's Madhu Mantena, vying for the Hindi remake rights it only made sense for Reddy to hold on to the rights of the very lucrative movie. One of the many hitches is that Reddy is looking for a director.
Actor Sonu Sood, who plays the villain in the movie, confirms that remake expert Priyadarshan turned down the offer to direct due to the short notice. The movie begins its Hindi shoot in June. Unfortunately for the movie, the original director Kodi Ramkrishna doesn’t know Hindi. And it’s not just the director, but the lead heroine isn’t confirmed too.
The producer wanted Anushka Sharma to play the title role but a slight miscommunication led to that falling through. The only choice left is the Anushka who plays the role of Arundhati in both the Telugu and Tamil versions. As for the male lead, Arjan Bajwa has completely declined to reprise his small role
